1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

A nation-wide, family-oriented reading program with a simple goal:

Read 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten!  Sharing books with your young children strengthens family bonds, promotes imagination and critical thinking skills, and builds a strong foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Anyone can participate in this FREE program!

Participating families simply use paper trackers from the library to document their progress, earning prizes to celebrate their success at key benchmarks in the process.  Library staff are happy to offer book recommendations, early literacy tips, and encouragement along the way!

Stop in the library today to get your tracker, and remember, ALL READING COUNTS!

Even the 100th time you reread a favorite book.

Even the books your child “reads” to you.

Even the books that others read to your child.

Even the books you listen to together.

ALL READING COUNTS!

We are excited to partner with you in helping your child(ren) become lifelong readers!
